McLaren Artura 1000GP Marks a Major Formula 1 Milestone
McLaren Artura 1000GP by MSO celebrates the brand’s 1,000th Formula 1 Grand Prix start with a 10-car limited run inspired by the Monaco MCL40 livery.
McLaren has revealed the Artura 1000GP by MSO, a limited-edition version of its hybrid supercar created to celebrate McLaren Racing’s 1,000th Formula 1 Grand Prix start at the 2026 Monaco Grand Prix.
The special model is limited to just 10 client cars, making it one of the rarest Artura-based commissions from McLaren Special Operations.
Its exterior livery is inspired by the special McLaren MCL40 race car design used in Monaco by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. MSO applies the 1000GP graphic across the bonnet, lower body sides and mirror casings, visually linking the road car to the Formula 1 milestone.

The design also includes a contrasting pinstripe on the front splitter and rear diffuser, referencing McLaren’s historic racing liveries. Inside, each car receives a bespoke anodized metallic papaya plaque marking the team’s 1,000th Grand Prix start.
McLaren says the Artura 1000GP reflects the same mindset that has connected its racing and road-car programs since Bruce McLaren founded the team in 1963: speed of development, close teamwork and engineering focus.
The milestone is significant. McLaren will become only the second Formula 1 team to reach 1,000 Grand Prix starts. Across that history, the team has won 10 Constructors’ Championships and more than 200 races.

No mechanical upgrades have been announced, so the 1000GP appears to remain based on the standard Artura. Its importance lies in the MSO livery, collectible status and direct connection to McLaren’s Formula 1 heritage.
For collectors, the Artura 1000GP is less about outright performance gains and more about owning a road-going tribute to one of the biggest moments in McLaren Racing’s history.
