Lotus Emira 420 Sport becomes the most powerful and lightest Emira yet, adding 420 PS, reduced weight, more downforce and a removable glass roof.

Lotus has introduced the Emira 420 Sport, a new range-topping version of its mid-engined sports car. It is now the most powerful, lightest and most aerodynamically developed Emira so far, with changes focused on sharper road and track performance.

Power comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 420 PS and 500 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, helping the car accelerate from 0–62 mph in 3.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 186 mph.

The biggest changes come with the optional Lightweight Handling Pack. It makes the Emira 420 Sport 25 kg lighter than the Emira Turbo and adds 25 kg of extra downforce. The package includes two-way adjustable Multimatic dampers, a titanium exhaust, lithium-ion battery, carbon-fiber parts and a Lotus Track Performance app for recording lap times.

Lotus has also revised the aerodynamics and cooling. The car gets a new front splitter, redesigned front vents, extended side sills, larger air intakes, a lip spoiler and a louvred tailgate. These updates improve airflow to the radiators and brakes, helping the car deliver more consistent performance during demanding driving.

The chassis has been sharpened as well. Ride height is lowered by 5 mm, suspension settings have been revised, and high-performance tires are fitted. The Emira keeps its bonded aluminum chassis, double wishbone suspension and electro-hydraulic power steering, all key parts of the Lotus driving character.

Inside, the 420 Sport remains driver-focused. It has 12-way adjustable seats, updated haptics and new carbon-fiber gearshift paddles. Optional cabin packs add carbon-fiber trim or hand-painted Tangelo Orange accents.

That same Tangelo Orange color is exclusive to the Emira 420 Sport and continues Lotus’ tradition of bright orange performance models. Buyers can also choose from 16 exterior colors, nine wheel designs and an optional exterior carbon-fiber pack.

Lotus is also introducing a major new feature for the whole Emira range: a removable tinted glass roof panel. Inspired by the Esprit, it can be removed quickly and stored behind the seats, giving the Emira an open-air driving experience without changing its underlying dynamic setup.

The Lotus Emira 420 Sport is available to order now, with deliveries expected from August 2026. Pricing starts at €129,900 in Europe, £105,900 in the UK and $122,900 in the United States.
