Haval's New Flagship SUV Hits Chinese Showrooms With 598-HP Hybrid Punch

Haval teased its flagship crossover back in early April and followed up with detailed specs a month later. Now the H10 has officially gone on sale in China, with order books open and pricing confirmed. The lineup keeps things relatively simple: two body configurations, a single hybrid powertrain, and all-wheel drive as standard across the board.

Underneath, the H10 rides on the same 800-volt Guiyuan (GWM One) platform that debuted on the Wey V9X hybrid flagship, complete with independent suspension and a unibody structure. But where the V9X leans into a sleek, fish-like silhouette, the H10 goes the opposite direction with a much tougher look — square headlights bridged by a solid panel instead of a conventional grille, chunky bumpers, vertical taillights, and a barn-door rear hatch with a spare tire mount. A two-tone paint scheme is available as an option, and buyers can tell the two body lengths apart by their rear pillars: the shorter version has blanked-out panels back there, while the longer one gets small windows.

That length difference amounts to just over 16 centimeters — 5,138 mm for the shorter H10 versus 5,299 mm for the stretched variant. Everything else lines up identically between the two: both measure 2,050 mm wide, 1,970 mm tall, and share a 3,000 mm wheelbase. Wheels come in at 20 inches, and Haval quotes 220 mm of ground clearance for either body style.

Step inside and you'll find a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster paired with a 15.6-inch center touchscreen. The center console mixes open cupholders with physical switchgear and wireless phone chargers, a feature that's also built into the door panels. The five-seat version arranges its cabin across two rows, while the long-wheelbase model splits six seats across three rows. Cargo space tells a similar story: the five-seater offers 815 liters that expand to 1,885 liters with the rear bench folded, while the three-row layout ranges from 316 to 1,056 liters depending on how many rows are in use.

Buyers get one trim for the five-seat H10 and three trims for the six-seat model. Even the base configuration comes loaded — power tailgate, heated front and second-row seats, a temperature-controlled console box, a dashcam, facial recognition, and a full suite of driver-assist hardware including a roof-mounted lidar unit, 12 ultrasonic sensors, and three millimeter-wave radars. Step up from the entry-level six-seater and you gain a head-up display, a rear-seat ceiling monitor, front-seat massage function, and a 21-speaker sound system with drivers built into the driver's headrest. Higher trims add massage seating for the second row, and the range-topping version throws in a locking rear differential.

Power comes from Haval's Hi4 plug-in hybrid system, combining a 1.5-liter turbo gas engine producing 167 horsepower with two electric motors. Combined output reaches a substantial 598 horsepower and 722 Nm of torque, enough to send the H10 from zero to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. A 42.8 kWh battery pack delivers up to 232 km of electric-only range on the CLTC cycle for the five-seat version, or 227 km for the six-seater, with all-wheel drive standard regardless of configuration. Certification paperwork also references a separate hybrid setup built around a 238-horsepower 2.0-liter turbo engine, though Haval hasn't shared sales details for that variant yet.

Chinese pricing starts at 219,800 yuan and tops out at 239,800 yuan, roughly $32,500 to $35,400. Haval is expected to eventually bring the H10 to export markets, though no timeline has been confirmed.
