GAC Yue 7 Prepares to Challenge China’s Tough Hybrid SUVs
GAC Yue 7 will enter China’s off-road PHEV segment with Huawei lidar, 536 hp, up to 188 km of EV range and serious low-speed traction hardware.
GAC is getting ready to launch the Yue 7, a large plug-in hybrid SUV aimed at China’s growing market for rugged electrified off-roaders. Sales are scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026.
The model was previously known as the Trumpchi T75 and made its public debut at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show. It will be sold under GAC’s Trumpchi brand, which focuses on gasoline and plug-in hybrid vehicles.
At just over five meters long, the Yue 7 is clearly not a compact lifestyle SUV. It measures 5,045 mm long, 2,030 mm wide and 1,933 mm tall, with a 2,900 mm wheelbase. The body uses upright, boxy styling, wide wheel arches, large bumpers and a side-opening tailgate with an external spare wheel.

The SUV also carries a roof-mounted Huawei 896-line lidar, suggesting a strong driver-assistance package. The cabin has five seats, although full interior details have not yet been released.
Power comes from GAC’s GMC 3.0 plug-in hybrid system with i-4WD all-wheel drive. A 1.5-liter turbocharged engine produces 168 hp, while two electric motors add a combined peak output of 536 hp.
Two battery options will be offered: 28.3 kWh and 46 kWh. Depending on the version, electric-only range is rated between 116 km and 188 km.

GAC is also emphasizing the Yue 7’s off-road ability. The company says the SUV can maintain traction even when only one wheel has grip, and its torque can be multiplied five times during low-speed crawling. That positions it directly against models such as the Denza B5 and Tank 400.
For GAC Trumpchi, the Yue 7 arrives at an important moment. The brand’s domestic sales have been under pressure, and a capable large PHEV SUV could help it compete in one of China’s most active segments.
