Mazda RX-7
1st generation
1978 - 1985
Produced from 1978 to 1985, the first-generation RX-7 (SA/FB) introduced Mazda's lightweight rotary sports car, powered by the compact 12A twin-rotor engine mounted behind the front axle for near-50/50 weight balance. Its low, wedge-shaped styling and pop-up headlights became iconic, and it earned early SCCA racing success alongside strong sales in the US market.
