Maxus

Maxus is a Chinese vehicle brand under SAIC Maxus Automotive Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of SAIC Motor, one of China’s largest automakers. Originally derived from the LDV Maxus van by the British LDV Group, SAIC acquired its intellectual property in 2010 after LDV’s collapse. Launched in China in 2011 with the V80 van, Maxus now produces commercial vans, pickup trucks, SUVs, and MPVs, with a strong push into electric vehicles (EVs). It operates globally, including in Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, sometimes branded as LDV in markets like Australia and New Zealand. Maxus focuses on practical, affordable vehicles for personal and business use, competing with brands like Ford, Toyota, and emerging Chinese players.
