MG, founded in 1924 in Oxford, UK, was famous for sporty roadsters like the MGB. Acquired by China’s SAIC Motor in 2007 after financial struggles, it’s now headquartered in Shanghai with global operations, including design in London and manufacturing in China, Thailand, and India. MG focuses on affordable, tech-laden vehicles—EVs, hybrids, SUVs, and compact cars—competing with Hyundai, Kia, and Suzuki. In 2025, MG emphasizes electrification and value, with strong sales in Europe, Australia, and India (5,500 units sold in India in March 2025, up 9% year-over-year).
