
IFA

IFA, or Industrieverband Fahrzeugbau, was a conglomerate in East Germany responsible for vehicle manufacturing between 1948 and 1990. It encompassed various companies producing a wide range of vehicles, including bicycles, motorcycles, light commercial vehicles, cars, vans, and heavy trucks. Notable manufacturers under the IFA umbrella included Barkas, EMW (which produced Wartburg cars), IWL, MZ, Multicar, Robur, Sachsenring (known for Trabant cars), and Simson.
