The eighth-generation Dodge Charger, launched for 2024, marks a bold reinvention of Dodge's muscle car icon, arriving first as a two-door coupe (internally coded LB) and eventually expanding to a four-door format. Built on the STLA Large platform, it debuts with all-electric propulsion via the Charger Daytona, using twin-motor setups and the "Banshee" powertrain delivering brutal acceleration, along with a synthetic exhaust-like sound generator called Fratzonic to preserve muscle car theatrics. A gas-powered Charger Sixpack version, using a twin-turbo Hurricane inline-six, is also offered to satisfy traditionalists mourning the departed V8 Hellcat era. Styling nods to Charger heritage with a aggressive fastback silhouette, R-Wing aero design, and available all-wheel drive, signaling Dodge's shift toward electrified performance while trying to retain the visceral character that made the Charger nameplate legendary among American performance cars.
