5-door hatchback

Pre-facelift

1st generation

The Audi A1 is a premium subcompact hatchback that brought upscale style and quality to the supermini segment. Built on Volkswagen Group small-car platforms and produced across two generations since 2010, it shares underpinnings with the VW Polo while offering distinctive Audi design language, sharp handling, and a well-finished interior. Available as a three-door or Sportback five-door, the A1 offered a range of efficient turbocharged petrol and diesel engines, from frugal three-cylinder units to punchy S line and S1 performance variants. Compact, agile, and practical, it appealed to buyers wanting genuine Audi character and craftsmanship in a smaller, city-friendly footprint.
